frozen

The mood of the crisp overcasted morning and my new my finds from f21 made it easier to get up earlier than usual today. That and my peach ginger black tea...my new favorite tea now.
Lately, I have been experimenting with changing up my style a little bit more...hence the beanie. It is funny how as much as I think I look silly in hats, I always buy them. And now with the cold change in the weather, it is more of an excuse to! I also found these super warm gray wool socks in my Dad's drawer( ya don't think he'll get them back). I can't wait to try them with my new Guess boots I bought the other day! I will have to feature them in an upcoming post!

endlessly

I got out of my visual communications class up at the university and decided it was worth documenting the moment. Nothing new as far as clothing, but was excited to finally pull out my burgundy leather jacket and black tights.

Next on my list: Vintage faux fur coat!

It's been some lovely past few days...spending time with amazing people, being creative, letting go, dancing, feeling alive, working hard, relaxing, smiling and laughing and just experiencing unexpected little surprises. I am truly blessed!

May the week continue...

old hollywood

heels, vintage

jewelry, vintage

lace nightgown, vintage

belt,vintage

My grandmother gave me this vintage cream lace night gown to cut and alter, as she usually does with her old pieces of clothing she does not want and thinks I can reinvent. And I usually go scissor crazy with most of them; however, this piece I absolutely loved as is. At first when I tried it on, it hung on me, nothing special or flattering. But after cinching the waist with a belt, adding jewelry and a lace flower to my messy long locks...it was perfect for an old Hollywood glam inspired look.

Enjoyed my Sunday: Living Stones 9am service, soy latte from The Hub, volunteering at the Nevada Museum of Art,listening to a live Jazz band, browsing Andy Warhol books,Catnap, Afternoon run, Dinner at the parent's for my mama's birthday, and to end it...Candles lit, steaming Green Jasmine tea and listening to the rain fall outside my bedroom window..mmm perfection!

rebecca minkoff

I somehow came across Rebecca Minkoff's collection on one of the many fashion websites I browse daily and instantly felt like she was designing for me! The colors, details, and simplicity of each design are absolutley stunning. Above are the few pieces that I completely adore!

My life is written in lists...daily 'to-do" lists, grocery lists, lists of goal..for the week, year, 5-years, lists of music to download, films to watch, places to go. etc..they are never ending and needless to say I always have a pen and paper close by! So i thought i'd share my most recent list..."The List". The name hasn't come to me yet because it's so random (and unranked)...but here's the start of it:

"THE LIST"
1. See Mat Kearney play live
2. Go lipstick shopping for the perfect shade of red
3. Practice yoga regularly
4. Cook a Vegan Thai dinner
5. Do a WINE WALK
6. Host a traditional tea party
7. Find the perfect pair of lace up vintage boots
8. Randomly give someone $100 (who needs it)
9. Travel to India,Norway, and Switzerland
10. Hike Mt. Rose
11. Date a musician,snowboarder,and a guy w/a sexy foreign accent
12. Learn how to make one mean chocolate martini
13. Take a solitude walk
14. Smile more
15. Always remember 1 Cor 13:4-8
to be continued...

grandma's garden

silk shirt, forever21; sweatpants, forever21

sunglasses, marc jacobs

rings, vintage; bracelets, street vendors

black wedges, bakers

Last Monday, my grandma invited me and my sis down to her house for a lovely girl's lunch. She made us chef salads, which were so yummy! While we ate them, she pulled out scarves, earrings, and necklaces she has pulled from her closet for us. Oh how I love her! We then enjoyed peach frozen yogurt and cappuccinos for dessert on her patio to admired her flower garden. Overall it made for an amazing Labor Day!

The day before, Kee and I had stopped at forever 21 to spend our gift cards and this silk shirt and green skinny sweatpants were some of my finds. I originally bought them for separate intentions, but when they were laying on my bed I couldn't help but try them together. I think the colors and textures are a nice contrast. I wish I had a close up of my necklaces...the thing gold chain with purple, black and orange beads was the necklace my grandmother just gave me and it went nicely with the shirt. I'll dedicate a post soon to all my new accessories I have accumulated.

Now I'm off to dinner at the parent's :)

the marina

floral blazer, silence+noise

glasses, my brother's

skirt, jcrew

jewelery, vintage

boots, MIA

I have decided that my style is defined by very feminine pieces mixed with rough masculine accessories. I absolutely love the contrasting image. I often find myself searching through my brother's and father's closets for anything that I can alter and incorporate into my wardrobe, which is full of floral, pastels, lace, and bows.

The tank top I chose is practically made up of holes, but nothing can make me make throw it away. It's the most comfortable, fitting white beater I have worn. And the gray skirt was on sale at jcrew and I was instantly drawn to the silver hardware adorning. It definitely adds some edge to a denim skirt. And I must say Silence+Noise has now become my favorite brand from Urban Outfitters....the floral blazer is way radd!

So glad to be off and have a relaxing night at home. It's been awhile since I've had a lavender bubble bath, a glass of wine on the couch, and time to paint my nails. Oh and so excited to see Trevor Hall play up in Tahoe next week with Gabby! If you have never heard his music, check out "To Zion" , "Unity" and "Lime Tree"...they will change your life!

campus

Sunglasses, Gucci; Romper, Urban Outfitters; Skirt, Target; Leather purse, Vintage ( made by my grandfather)

Glasses, Urban Outfitters; Jewelery, Vintage

Dress shoes, Steve Madden

Rings, Vintage

It was such a lovely day on campus. I found an new place to journal in the rose gardens, display my amateur artwork in stairwell of the art building, and read my fashion books in the grass in front of the education building. I wish the piano was there to stay in front of the student union, but it was only there for Art Town, which lasts the month of July. Now too bad classes seriously begin less than a month from now...bummer!

What looks like just a blouse is actually a romper. It shrunk when it was washed(duh its rayon), so my butt cheeks would be totally hanging out if I didn't pair it with this skirt. I thought the patterns nicely complimented each other. I added tons of vintage accessories that my grandmother just gave me. I went and visited her a few days ago and completely enjoyed myself. She was so sweet and suffered Thai food for me. Then we ended our night with a romantic comedy and ice coffees. But as usual, we went through her amazing jewelery collection and she passed along a few more of her pieces.I think I'll have to dedicate a post just to what she gave me this time.

Well this will be the first post of many to come :)...Thanks to Andrew!
